Making a Difference Through Electoral Participation: Youth Engagement in the European Parliament Elections

Young people between the ages of 15 and 29 make up 17% of the EU population but their voice remains significantly marginalised in EU political decision-making processes. The 2019 European Elections marked a shift in youth participation, contributing to the first rise in voter turnout since 1994. However, despite the observed increase in young people’s political engagement in associations, demonstrations, and digital advocacy, young people are still underrepresented in EU elections and there is still a feeling that there is a gap between EU decision-makers and the youth. EPD and the SEEEDS partners are glad to invite you to the second webinar of the SEEEDS 2024 series on youth engagement in the European Elections 2024.
